THE ACADEMIC PROGRAMME OF THE INSTITUTION MAINLY CONSISTS OF SECTIONS ‘A & B’ EXAMINATIONS, POPULARLY KNOWN AS THE AMIIE EXAMINATION.

The IIE is a multi-disciplinary body responsible for qualifying engineers and setting standards for training and admission of engineers. Admission is normally into one of the 61+ Disciplines. Each Discipline has its Discipline Advisory Panel.

About

Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) focuses on developing devices like transistors, integrated circuits, and PCBs used in various technologies like computers, MP3 players, and cell phones. It integrates knowledge in digital electronics, communication engineering, power electronics, and VLSI. Career

After completing a B. Tech/BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering, students can pursue M. Tech/MS in specialized areas like Fiber Optics and Light Waves, Microelectronics & VLSI Design, RF and Microwaves, Telecommunication Systems, Visual Information, and Embedded Systems. This field offers a wide array of job opportunities, primarily in the electronics and communication industries, with additional prospects in IT, consumer electronics, power transmission, aviation, telecommunications, and electronic media.

According to the NIT Silchar Placement 2015 report, 76% of Electronics & Communication Engineering graduates secured placements. The highest package of Rs. 9 LPA was offered by BhramHos Aerospace. Renowned companies like Philips, Nokia, and Reliance Jio were among the major recruiters, providing an average salary of Rs. 5 LPA.
