About

Electronics and Communication Engineering focuses on developing and managing electronic devices, circuits, and communication systems. It covers digital electronics, communication systems, VLSI, embedded systems, and power electronics. Engineers find opportunities in IT, telecommunications, aviation, consumer electronics, and manufacturing industries. Graduates can pursue higher studies in specialized fields, with competitive salaries and placement opportunities from top companies like Philips, Nokia, and Reliance Jio.

Career

Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) graduates have numerous career opportunities in diverse industries. After completing a B.Tech/BE, students can pursue M.Tech/MS in specialized fields such as Fiber Optics and Light Waves, Microelectronics & VLSI Design, RF and Microwaves, Telecommunication Systems, Visual Information, and Embedded Systems.

This field offers extensive job opportunities, primarily in the electronics and communication industry. Other industries hiring ECE graduates include IT, consumer electronics, power transmission, aviation, telecommunications, electronic media, computer applications, and manufacturing companies. These industries require skilled professionals to develop, design, and manage electronic systems, embedded systems, and communication networks.

Placement records highlight the demand for ECE graduates. As per NIT Silchar’s 2015 placement report, 76% of ECE students secured jobs. The highest package of Rs. 9 LPA was offered by BrahMos Aerospace, while leading recruiters like Philips, Nokia, and Reliance Jio offered an average salary of Rs. 5 LPA.
