Overview

The Indian Institution of Engineers (IIE) is deeply committed to maintaining the integrity, authenticity, and credibility of its certification programs and training activities.
In recent times, it has come to our attention that certain unauthorized organizations and individuals are falsely claiming affiliation with IIE or offering fake certificates and unapproved training programs in the name of IIE.

This page serves as an official alert to help the public, students, and professionals identify and avoid fraudulent practices, ensuring that their qualifications and investments in professional education remain legitimate and recognized.

Our Commitment to Authenticity

As India’s trusted professional body for engineers, IIE upholds the highest standards of:

  • Transparency in certification and accreditation processes.

  • Fairness in examinations and assessments.

  • Ethical conduct in all training and certification partnerships.

  • Protection of candidates’ rights and professional reputations.

IIE’s official certifications and communications are issued only through authorized channels, ensuring credibility and recognition across industries.

Recognizing Fraudulent Activities

Candidates and members are advised to stay alert and verify the authenticity of any IIE-related program or correspondence. Fraudulent activities may include:

  • Unauthorized institutions claiming to conduct IIE certification or diploma exams.

  • Websites or social media pages offering fake or counterfeit IIE certificates.

  • Agents demanding cash or unofficial payments for membership or exam registration.

  • Organizations using IIE’s name, logo, or seal without formal approval.

  • Unrecognized online courses falsely labeled as “IIE-accredited”.

⚠️ Important: IIE does not authorize any individual or third-party institution to issue certificates, conduct exams, or collect fees on its behalf without written consent.

How to Verify Authenticity

To ensure your certification or membership is genuine, please follow these steps:

  1. Check Official Communication Channels

    • Verify email domains ending with @iieinstitution.com only.

  2. Authenticate Certificates

    • Use the Certificate Verification Tool available on the IIE Member Portal.

    • Contact the IIE office for manual verification if needed.

  3. Confirm Authorized Training Providers

    • Refer to the Approved Centers List on the IIE website.

    • Ensure all training programs have a valid authorization code issued by IIE.

  4. Report Suspicious Activities

    • Immediately notify IIE if you come across any unauthorized or suspicious use of its name, logo, or services.

Legal Action and Penalties

IIE strictly prohibits the use of its name, logo, or certification materials without proper authorization.
Any individual, group, or organization found guilty of:

  • Producing counterfeit certificates,

  • Misrepresenting affiliation with IIE, or

  • Conducting unauthorized exams or training programs

will face immediate legal action under the applicable provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Cybercrime Regulations.

How to Report Fraud

If you suspect any fraudulent activity related to IIE, please provide:

  • Name of the organization/individual

  • Nature of fraud or misrepresentation
